What can I do with my old office chair?
One of the questions we get a lot here at Office Furniture EZ is, “What can I do with my old office chair?”
We believe in minimizing one’s carbon footprint whenever possible, so we’ve come up with a short list of ideas aside from simply tossing your chair in your company dumpster or home trash bin.
Idea 1 – Sell your old office chair on Craigslist. Even if it’s for $15 or so, there may be someone out there who can clean or reupholster the chair and make it their own. Note – do be cautious with selling items to strangers. Tell others where you’re going, have someone accompany you, and be sure to meet in a highly public/safe place for the transaction.
Idea 2 – Use the old chair with your garage workbench. A height adjustable chair with arms can be handy when tinkering with projects in your home workshop.
Idea 3 – Ask local charities if they take used office chairs – for example, Goodwill and arc Thrift Stores.
Idea 4 – Not into selling or transporting your old item? Place the item on the curb with a “Free” sign on it. One person’s trash is another’s treasure.
Idea 5 – If your chair is in bad shape, you may be able to get a couple of dollars for it at a scrap metal dealer.
Idea 6 – This one is our favorite. Make a cool stool out of your old office chair!
You may have heard that we buy used office furniture. It’s true – however we only purchase items in like-new condition and we prefer lots of 50 or more items. If that describes the inventory you are looking to sell, we invite you to complete our Sell Your Items form.
If it’s time for a new office chair, we invite you to stop in our Denver showroom and try our chairs. While shopping online for chairs is great, there’s nothing like sitting in a chair to see if it’s a good match for your body type.
